Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1
What are the primary benefits of this primer?
This primer features good weather resistance, quick drying properties, excellent cathodic protection, superior anti-corrosion and wear resistance, and strong adhesion to steel surfaces.
Q2
What surfaces and applications is this product recommended for?
It is mainly used as a protective primer for coating steel surfaces on structures such as bridges, ships, petrochemical infrastructure, containers, and general steel structures.
Q3
What is the mixing ratio and potlife of the mixture?
The mixing ratio for the Base to Hardener is 10:1 by weight. The potlife varies by temperature: 10 hours at 10°C, 8 hours at 20°C, and 6 hours at 30°C.
Q4
How should the steel surface be prepared before application?
The surface must be cleaned of oil, grease, salt, and detergents. It should be abrasive blasted to Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1) or SP 10 (SSPC) standards, and all dust, sand, and loose materials must be completely removed.
Q5
What are the environmental limits for applying this coating?
Application should occur on a clean, dry surface with a temperature at least 3°C (5°F) above the dew point. The substrate temperature must be above -10°C (14°F) and relative humidity must remain below 85% during application and curing.
Q6
What is the drying time and recoating interval at 20°C?
At 20°C, the coating is dry to the touch in 1.5 hours and fully dry in 18 hours. The minimum painting interval is 18 hours at this temperature.
